Working for HIV Positive Children under this project, recently we have started new care home “AANGAN” for HIV Positive children in association with Positive Women Network of Rajasthan in which we work for HIV positive children, especially girls and small kids. As of now, we have been catering the needs of 9 children, including 7 girls and 2 small boys. Most of them are orphans. All of them are HIV affected. We were entrusted with the duty of care towards them by the Child Welfare Committee (A Government of Rajasthan Establishment). This program is aimed towards loving these children, to care for them and to teach them to celebrate their lives and get the most of it despite this fatal disease in them.
We have employed 2 ladies who look after every small need of these 9 children. One of them is HIV POSITIVE and both her children live in the Care Home itself. Fortunately, we have also been able to send all these children to school and we keep them engaged in various co-curricular activities like dance, arts & crafts and various other outings and seminars with the help of our young volunteers. We have made all possible efforts to give them a shining and secure future. As they are HIV affected they get free treatment for the same under Central Government Scheme. For any other minor problems, they are taken to the nearby doctors and we bear the costs involved.
Aangan Care Home can always be reached at:

Saksham focuses on the overall development of families mainly in slum areas of Jaipur. We constantly work to help the poor and the destitute to become self-sufficient through developing the human resources by equipping them with – education, vocational training, and direct support.
Currently we are working for the slums near Malviya Nagar RIICO Industrial Area, Jaipur. We have volunteers across Jaipur who teach these children. We not only provide theoretical knowledge but also lay special emphasis over the practical approach. There are special weekend classes where students are taught life skills, personality development and communication skills.
Apart from this, Saksham also focuses on Women Empowerment. For women, we offer stitching courses, beautician courses and art & craft courses. Also, we offer evening classes to the local children at a center of ours there in the slum itself.
Our Annual Event, which is popularly known among youngsters as Ullas – Celebrating the Joy of Giving, also comes under this program.
Our various initiatives, under this project are :
- Each One, Educate One
We are giving education scholarship to 40 kids and our target is to reach 100 kids by the end of 2014. We encourage each and everyone of our volunteers to teach at least one kid.
Under this campaign we try to provide delicious and healthy food to the kids of various cares home and slum once in a week.
- Donate Blood – Save Lives
We try to organize 3 to 4 blood donation camp every year and our target is to motivate young people to donate blood for the very first time.
- Wash Hands
We provide soaps to wash hands before mid-day-meal in government schools and try to distribute soaps amongst the slum kids too with an effective message on significance of cleanliness.
Under this campaign, we take care of pregnant ladies so as to decrease the Maternal Mortality Rate in India. We offer them proper nutritive care during the pregnancy period. We are thinking of extending the facility to one more month after the delivery. Awareness, again, is an important part of this campaign. We try to make the women and their families aware of the good practices while the lady is expecting a baby. As a positive gesture to extend the service under this campaign, Naya Sawera has decided that if a girl child is born, she will be awarded with a scholarship to meet her educational needs.
*** Our next target is to establish a computer lab for providing free computer education to the people of the slum of our operations.
This project focuses on the environmental issues. Its goal is to ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life with all its diversity kept intact. We focus on issues like global warming, deforestation, wastage of energy, improper disposal of waste etc. We strive to inspire action using various means of communication, training and advocacy as primary tools to spread awareness about the value of the beautiful green earth, recycling, reuse and their advantages so that they can be adopted in the daily lifestyle of the masses, ensuring the participation of individuals for the betterment of our green present and future. We have weekly and monthly events and programs through which we contribute as much as we can.
